The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Conference is set to take place on April 30th, both online and onsite at Northwestern Visayan Colleges (NVC), Kalibo, Aklan. This event is a collaborative effort between the NVC Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Masters in Public Administration (MPA) graduate program, aimed at exploring the critical issues surrounding sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental governance.

ESG, standing for Environmental, Social, and Governance, is a framework increasingly gaining traction in business and governance circles worldwide. If you’re curious about this new framework’s significance, this conference is the perfect opportunity to join and learn about the future of sustainable investing.

The lineup for the event features a diverse range of speakers, including Mr. Segis Borja, the Program Officer for Campus Sustainability at the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, and Dr. Daphne Kerhoas, the Senior Project Manager within the Conservation Directorate for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) in the United Kingdom. Also, Matt Ward, the Project Manager and Executive Director of Talarak Foundation, Inc., and Mr. Jaylord Claud, the Project Evaluation Officer III and Certified Professional on Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE) in Malay’s Planning and Development Office, will contribute their expertise.

Notably, environmental champion and Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, renowned for her legislation on environmental protection, climate action, and sustainable development, will deliver the keynote address.

Atty. Leni Robredo, Chairperson and President of grant funding partner Angat Buhay, along with NVC’s Executive Director, Dr. Rebecca Tandug-Barrios, will also provide messages for the event.
