“Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, and what you have.”
A little act of kindness can be a small, thoughtful action that is done to help or bring joy to someone else. It can be as simple as holding the door open for someone, offering a smile to a stranger, or lending a helping hand to someone in need. As every person loves positivity, here’s one. As we recognize the people who made another heart warmed.
Two second-year Criminology students at Northwestern Visayan Colleges, namely John Rainier D. Cezar from Bugasongan, Lezo, Aklan, and Joshua P. Glemao from New Washington, Aklan, were driven by their compassionate nature when they encountered an elderly man in need while walking along the road. Recognizing the old man’s struggle, they decided to lend a helping hand genuinely. They approached him with warmth, offered him food, and provided nourishment and comfort in the middle of the bright sun.
The old man, who was struggling to walk along the road, was trying to sell ‘kangkong,’ a green leafy vegetable. Understanding that the old man needed assistance returning home, they took it upon themselves to find a tricycle for him. With their genuine act of kindness, these two students not only provided immediate aid but also demonstrated the power of empathy and compassion. Their small gesture had a significant impact on the old man’s life that day, reminding us of the transformative power of simple acts of kindness.
What they did serves as an example that students can learn not only academically but also the values that enable us to make a positive impact on our daily lives. Everyone can lend a hand to those in need, and even the smallest gestures can be significant to others. These acts may seem insignificant, but they have the power to brighten someone’s day, create a positive ripple effect, and foster a sense of connection and community. Little acts of kindness are a reminder that even the smallest gestures can make a big difference in the lives of others.
