Students of the Northwestern Visayan Colleges (NVC), have been selected to compete in the upcoming 3rd Edition of the Sarรณk Short Film Festival (SSFF) 2024.
The NVC production team was composed of students from different departments: BSBA, AB, BSCS, and Education.
To ensure that the competing teams are well-prepared for the said contest, the organizer has prepared a series of film festival activities from May to September 2024. Among the activities prepared are the Film Talks and Workshops, Online Script Development Consultations, and Film Critiquing sessions.
The teamโs entry, titled โPanamkon,โ will be directed by Jean Gelito, the AB Governor. Gelito and her team are determined to follow the steps of the previous NVCian who competed in thesame contests.
โWe may not expect to win, but we are committed to giving our best to continue the legacy of the previous victory of NVC,” said Gelito.
According to the Film Director, the team was carefully chosen based on the potential of the students demonstrated during the previous Istorya it OPM theater competition organized by the said institution.

Aimed at showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage and the conclusive beauty of Western Visayas, the SSFF 2024 was organized by the Kalibo Council for Culture and the Arts (KCCA), in collaboration with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
