Northwestern Visayan Colleges

Once again, the Province of Aklan has been recognized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region VI for passing the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) in the entire Region VI.

Seventeen municipalities within the province have also been granted the seal as 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping passers, namely: Altavas, Balete, Banga, Batan, Buruanga, Ibajay, Kalibo, Lezo, Libacao, Madalag, Makato, Malay, Malinao, Nabas, New Washington, Numancia, and Tangalan.

The SGFH certification from the DILG serves as a proof that the Province of Aklan and its 17 municipalities have diligently managed and audited their public funds, ensuring complete transparency.

This seal has proven instrumental in enhancing transparency and accountability, being one of the six criteria evaluated for a Local Government Unit (LGU) to qualify for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
