In a ceremony held at Marzon Hotel, Aklan, the Oath Taking of the Aklan Media Citizen Council Officers took place under the auspices of the Philippine Press Institute (PPI) and with the support of the International Media Support (IMS). This event marked a pivotal moment for media advocacy in the region.
Among the newly elected officers, the Bachelor of Arts Department at NVC proudly boasts two of its faculty members, further strengthening the ties between education and media governance. Mr. Jun Aguirre was elected as the Chairperson, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. Additionally, Mrs. Angelie D. Custodio joins the council as a Board Member, contributing her expertise to the broader media landscape.
The Aklan Media Citizen Council, with its newly appointed leaders, is poised to play a crucial role in fostering media integrity, promoting transparency, and safeguarding the interests of both the public and the media community. The Philippine Press Institute and the International Media Support continue to play pivotal roles in supporting such initiatives, underscoring the collaborative efforts required to maintain a vibrant and responsible media environment.
